Some Meals are Worth the Journey: Dining at Eastwind Hotels

Some trips are planned around where you'll stay. The best ones are planned around where you'll eat.

At Eastwind, dining is part of the adventure. Gather over barbecue, cocktails, and mountain views at Dandies & Biergarten in Windham, or discover the seasonal forage-to-fork experience at Dandelion in Oliverea Valley.

Different atmospheres. Different menus. One shared philosophy: great food, good drinks, and plenty of reasons to linger.

DANDIES & Biergarten

One Long Windham Day

Weekend mornings at Dandies start at eight with specialty coffee and no particular reason to leave. From there the day drifts the way good days do. A barbecue lunch. A sandwich you'll think about on the drive home. A cold local beer, then maybe a craft cocktail as the light starts to angle down through the trees.

The heart of the place is outside. Forest Biergarten seating sits nestled among the trees, and up the hill the Garden Firepit keeps a long view of Windham Mountain. It's the sort of backdrop that stretches an afternoon that wasn't supposed to last this long. Grab a table, order another round, and stay awhile. The outdoor spaces welcome dogs, so the whole pack is invited.

Come on a Thursday and the lawn becomes an outdoor cinema. Bring a blanket, take a bag of complimentary popcorn, watch the sun go down, and stay for a movie under the stars.

Hotel guests, locals, weekend wanderers: everyone ends up here eventually, usually holding a scoop of house-made gelato. Dandies is open year-round, and the motto over the door tells you everything about how to arrive. Come hungry, leave dandy.

Deep in the Valley, Far From Ordinary

Getting to Dandelion is part of the meal. The road narrows, the valley closes in, and by the time you park, the week has fallen somewhere behind you. Arrive early if you can. A cocktail on the grounds before dinner is half the ritual here, and the list of craft cocktails, local beers, ciders, and curated wines changes nearly as often as the menu does.

The kitchen runs forage-to-fork, which is a philosophy and also a promise: thoughtfully sourced ingredients, adventurous flavors, and refined comfort dishes that follow the seasons through the year.

Whether you're staying the night or making the drive solely for dinner, Dandelion rewards those willing to venture a little further off the beaten path.
